中英文化体育交流协会羽毛球俱乐部去年夏季以来的第18次比赛, 今年的第6次比赛，于2024年3月19号晚上，于英国伦敦温布尔登顺利举行！比赛每月1-2次，网上直播，媒体发布新闻，欢迎商家冠名和赞助我们的比赛
Swift 18th Wu Badminton tournament✊ rules:
- 8 pairs divided in 2 groups
- 1 game to 21 WITHOUT setting for group games, all other knock-out games 21 with setting.
- Order of play: Group round robin, then top 2 each group get in semi, bottom 2 play another lower semi , then 2 finals
- Matches starts from 8pm, be on time, max 5 minutes warm up before each game, please don’t waste time.
- Champions will get medals and prizes, lower champions and top runner up get small gifts
- if anyone retires during matches, back up player (WU) can replace the injured player, and results will be counted
Polite reminder: don’t use any other courts, we book 3 courts for 8-9pm, and 2 courts for 9-10pm, and finishes at 10pm
after the group games, the top 2 from each group played semi, Kevi & Jonnie got easy win against Vivek and Ben, it was much closer in another semi, Guru & Neil beat Kris and Takashi 22-20, so after 18 tournament, we still don’t have any pair win second time.
In the final, the two pairs both from group B, played against each other, Kevin and Jonnie was leading, but Guru and Neil, fight back , but lost 20:22 this could be closed final, as mostly the semis are very close not the finals. Kevin Cai and Jonnie Wong, become our new champions, both won once before with different partners.
we also played knock out for the bottom 4 pairs, Murugan and Reece beat Stephen and Chi, David & Tarandeep beat James & Sameer, in the lower final, Murugan and Reece beat David and Tarandeep.
it’s another successful tournament with good quality games. the 19th tournament will be mid or end of April. can’t wait!
