Look! Who is our new Champion? SWIFT Flavour-Hubb ACCSEA New-Hope-UK 30th WU Badminton Tournament Successfully Held on 26 September 2024 in London

中英文化体育交流协会羽毛球俱乐部去年夏季以来的第30次羽毛球比赛, 今年的第18次比赛，于2024年9月20号晚上在英国伦敦温布尔登顺利举行！此次比赛我们邀请到了打进东京奥运会前16名的国际级球星Toby Pent (潘迪），他也是我们的新冠军。此次我们还得到了泰餐店的冠军奖品赞助。比赛网上直播，每月2次, 媒体发布新闻，欢迎商家冠名和赞助我们的比赛. 本次共有16名选手参赛。下一场比赛国庆假晚上比赛。

Look who is our new **Champion**? **Toby Penty**: The left-hander has over 200 wins to his name and is highly decorated at European level, winning silver in the Team European Championships in both 2014 and 2018.
Penty reached the round of 16 in Tokyo where he was eliminated by world no.2 Anders Antonsen.

Thanks to Toby to play our tournament, we’re non-professional social players, mostly higher intermediate level, but Toby wanted to have fun with us, and Toby has played really friendly games, he paired with our veteran player, Suthat, and they won as expected. Congratulations to our champions, and it’s toby’s fist gold from Wu Badminton, toby said he will put the medal together with his gold medals and will play again in the future. it was fund and privilege to play badminton with such an excellent professional player.

30th tournament on ✊ 26 Sep 2024 Rules:

Players will be divided in 2 groups, group draw at 8pm before game start.
1 game to 21 with setting for all games
Group games start from 8pm, player find out your group draw before warm up.
Champions get medals and prizes, including flavour hubb voucher
Winners of each game write down the score, and organise your next game.
Court 5&6, and court 7 from 9pm games will be live streamed
Shuttlecocks: swift lite speed 77 (official)
As random group draw, may play quarter if time allows， 3rd vs 2nd for groups.

As Toby playing our tournament, we have decided to let player to take their group draws.

In Group A, Toby and Suthat win all the 3 games, and Jonnie and Kris Ramjeeawun finished as 2nd. Joel and Neil finished as 3rd.

In group B, our former champions, Kris and Gohar win all the 3 games to be winner of the group, and Thi and Ramesh finished as 2nd in group, Min and Gordon finished 3rd, all the 6 players are our former champions, and we had a lady , Emeline, played with her mixed double partner Ben, they also played well, but couldn’t win.

As the group are randomly drawn, so we played quarters, 3rd of group B vs 2nd of Group A, Jonnie and Kris R get in semi to against winner of group B , in another quarter Thi and Ramesh beat 3rd of group A, Joel & Neil. indeed the 2 groups were very well balanced.

In the Semis, are all close games, Toby & Suthat even 17-20 behind, but they won, and as mentioned above, toby has been playing friendly. Gohar and Kris beat Jonnie and Kris R.

and as expected Toby and Suthat win in the final.
