The 57th tournament saw another strong turnout, with 12 pairs competing across two groups. The evening delivered tight matches, a final featuring a junior player, and a record number of women players on court.

Andy & Jonni topped the group with a perfect 5 wins, followed by Bernice & Stuart, Dillon & Vikram, and Allan & Emma – all finishing with 3 wins each. Shobhit & Sam and Euan & Taira also put in strong performances.

Semi-finals:

Dillon & Vikram beat Andy & Jonni – a great upset!

Final:

Bernice & Stuart defeated Dillon & Vikram to become champions. This was an especially proud moment for 13-year-old Dillon, who reached his first final in our tournaments.

In recognition of Dillon’s outstanding achievement as the only junior player to reach the final, Mr Wu (on behalf of ACCSEA – Anglo Chinese Culture & Sports Exchange Association) presented him with a Gyro Ball to celebrate his progress and encourage his development. This was also supported by the Tesco Groundworks funding for the ACCSEA “Help Children Play Badminton” project.
