The Anglo Chinese Cultural & Sports Exchange Association (ACCSEA) was invited to the prestigious opening of the Odyssey 5th Annual Film Festival, held at Everyman Broadgate, London. The festival launched with the UK premiere of Four Trails (2022), an award-winning documentary directed by Robin Lee.
The film captures the epic endurance challenge of the Hong Kong Four Trails Ultra Challenge (HK4TUC)—a 298 km ultramarathon across Hong Kong’s four major trails, to be completed within 60 hours. Established in 2012, this unique test of physical and mental resilience has become one of the world’s most extreme running events. The 2021 edition, documented in Lee’s film, not only highlights the determination of the participants but also showcases the breathtaking landscapes of Hong Kong.
The Opening Screening on Monday, 15 September quickly sold out, with audiences treated to an engaging Q&A with director Robin Lee after the film. Due to high demand, additional screenings have been added in London and Leeds.
Representing ACCSEA, President Mr Wu attended alongside members Jason Chang, Jisen Yu, and Joanne Chen. Following the screening, Jisen Yu was pictured with distinguished guests including Dr Hiu Man Chan, Founder of UK-China Film Collab; Eloise Singer, Jury President of the festival; and Robin Lee, the film’s director.
The evening reflected ACCSEA’s continuing mission to promote cultural and sporting exchanges between the UK and Chinese communities, and highlighted how sport and film can intersect to tell extraordinary human stories.
