The 39th WU ACCSEA Badminton Tournament, held on Thursday, 20 March 2025, concluded with great enthusiasm and competitive spirit. The event, generously sponsored by Ashton Meadows Nursing Home, brought together players and spectators for a day of spirited matches and camaraderie.
A highlight of the tournament was the unveiling of prizes autographed by international badminton star Lakshya Sen, who personally signed them during his training stint in Wimbledon ahead of the All England Championships, where he recently reached the quarterfinals. Participants and winners alike cherished the unique memorabilia, adding star power to the community-driven event.
Organizers expressed gratitude to Ashton Meadows Nursing Home for their unwavering support and emphasized the need for additional sponsors to sustain future tournaments, which are held 1–2 times monthly. “Contributions of any kind or size are welcome,” said a spokesperson, urging local businesses and individuals to help keep the tradition alive.
Excitement is building for the next tournament, slated for Early April, with multiple businesses already pledging support — though additional sponsors are warmly encouraged to join the action!

Matches: 1 game to 21 (win by 2, capped at 30).

- Group winners + 2 best 2nd-place teams advanced directly to quarterfinals.
- Bottom two 3rd-place teams entered a preliminary knockout:
- Ramesh & Vikki defeated Wilbert & Joel, then beat Daniel & Sukwan (2nd-best 2nd) to secure a quarterfinal spot.
- Alston & Tony (best 3rd) defeated Murugan & Arsam (3rd-place) to advance.
