The 47th Wu ACCSEA Swifties Badminton Tournament was one of the most exciting editions yet, featuring 16 pairs, the highest number of entries so far, and a packed schedule of intense matches. From dramatic group-stage battles to nail-biting knockout games, the tournament delivered everything — dark horses emerging, juniors pushing the top seeds, and champions proving their class. In the end, the event once again finished right on time, thanks to smooth organization and great spirit from all players.

Group Stage Results
The tournament kicked off with a round-robin format across four groups (A, B, C, D), featuring 16 pairs battling on Courts 1–4 at WRFC. Each group delivered fierce competition, with handicap rules adding strategic depth to the matches. Below are the detailed results for each group, presented individually for clarity.
Group A
Top seed Bash & Qamar (-6) dominated, securing three wins to finish first. The remaining pairs—Billy & Samuel (+5), Logesh & Wilbert (+4), and Venket & Soman (+2)—each won one match, with Billy & Samuel taking 2nd place, Venket & Soman in 3rd, and Logesh & Wilbert in 4th, determined by tie-break rules (head-to-head, points difference, points scored).

- Quarterfinals:
- A1 (Bash & Qamar) vs. D2 (Goldie & Viresh): A dramatic match saw 15-year-old junior Goldie and Viresh lead 20–19, only to fall 23–25 to the top seeds in one of the night’s most gripping battles.
- B1 (Guru & Gopi) vs. C2 (Tarandeep & Nethra): Guru & Gopi advanced.
- C1 (Andrew & Rohan) vs. B2 (Luke & Mark): Dark horses Luke & Mark upset the group winners.
- D1 (Thi & Vikki) vs. A2 (Billy & Samuel): Thi & Vikki progressed.
- Semifinals:
- A1 (Bash & Qamar) vs. B1 (Guru & Gopi): Bash & Qamar secured their spot in the final.
- B2 (Luke & Mark) vs. D1 (Thi & Vikki): Luke & Mark continued their impressive run.

Plate Knockout (Bottom 2 from Each Group)
With two pairs withdrawing, the Plate Knockout saw adjusted matchups:

- B3 (Gohar & Mubashar) vs. C4 (Faran & Waseem): Gohar & Mubashar defeated elite player Faran and Waseem to advance.
- Semifinals:
- D4 (Sam & Kavit) vs. D3 (Jonnie & Joel): Sam & Kavit advanced.
- B3 (Gohar & Mubashar) vs. B4 (Syed & Varshan): Gohar & Mubashar progressed.
- Final:
- B3 (Gohar & Mubashar) claimed the Plate Champion title, earning prizes.
Award Ceremony
The night concluded with a heartfelt ceremony led by Naganethra Reddy AIEMA, a member of the Inspire Committee for Badminton England. She presented gold medals to champions Bash & Qamar, silver medals to runner-ups Luke & Mark, and prizes to Plate winners Gohar & Mubashar. Swifties Pro shuttlecocks, renowned for their AS-50 quality, were awarded as prizes, underscoring their status as the champions’ choice.
