The 44th Wu Badminton Tournament continued the tradition of exciting, high-stakes competition, bringing together players of all levels for another unforgettable night. Held on 24 July 2025 at Wimbledon Rackets & Fitness Club, the event featured 10 pairs battling through a tightly scheduled format of group and knockout matches — where emotions ran high and even a racket found its way to the roof.

🏸 44th Wu Badminton Tournament – Rules & Format
- 10 pairs divided into 2 groups of 5
- All matches are 1 game to 21 points, with setting (win by 2, cap at 30)
- Top 2 pairs from each group advance to the semi-finals
- Matches start at 8:00 PM sharp – group matches must finish by 10:00 PM
- Please arrive on time
- Max 2-minute warm-up before each game – avoid delays
- Friendly games allowed after group stage finishes
- Winners receive medals and prizes
- Shuttles: Swifties Pro 77 – natural cork, same grade as top-tier Yonex AS50
- Court 6: Please switch sides at 11 points due to lighting imbalance
- Handicap Scoring System:
- Handicap points are applied by the organiser to balance matchups as fairly as possible
- If one pair is +X and the other is –Y, the game starts at that score
- e.g. +2 vs –3 → score starts at 2 : –3
- If both pairs have positive handicaps (e.g. +2 vs +4), subtract the lower value from both → start at 0 : 2
- If both have negative handicaps (e.g. –2 vs –5), subtract the less negative from both → start at 0 : –3

In an exciting finale, Min & Kris — the second-place pair from Group A — pulled off an impressive win over Joel & Ram, the group leaders, with a solid score of 21–16 to claim the championship title.
Their consistent performance, smart positioning, and clutch plays under pressure made them a standout pair on the night.
